Mother's Day projects (and a little help from my blogging friends!)

Alright guys, here are (some) of my Mother's Day cards! Of course, I had to make some quick ones with Create a Critter.  These have the cute ladybugs on them.  Just used leftover scrap paper to makes these guys.

The inside of these ladybug cards have a poem in it.  I don't remember the exact words (already sent them out!) but something about how I heard ladybugs are useful but not as useful as you.  Corny and cute!

The next card I made with a tutorial from Dawn Griffith's page (dawnsstampinthoughts.net).  She's my direct SU! upline!  I do not have the SU flower punch, so I used some cute retired SU felt flowers and brads.

I thought it was so clever! :)

AND a question to all my crafty blogging Queens:  I colored my first digi stamp this morning.  It came out terrible.  The ink from the printed imaged blended with my colors to give my picture an all-over muddied grey hue.  If I'm coloring a stamped image, I used STAZ-on to make sure that doesn't happen...but what should I do to keep the printer ink from blending? I use ink and blender pen as I'm not really great with just straight markers.  I know you gals have an answer to this question with all the awesome digi images I see colored!  Thanks guys!

Beautiful cards! I especially like how the flowers pull out of the pot to reveal the inside of the card. As for coloring digis, it depends on what inks you use and what printer ink you have. Since I generally color with Copics I use momento ink for stamped images, and when I have digis I make sure to let the printed image dry for a long time before coloring, usually over night. I've heard you can also speed up the drying time by using a heat gun...just be careful not to burn the paper.

Thanks for stopping by shalomcrafts.blogspot.com. I'm new to your blog and think it's adorable! My parents used to live in Hawaii; Dad worked at the VA hospital. I miss the islands. Super cute bugs and flowers cards. Great ideas.

WOW!!! I love your Creations and I love the LOVE BUG!!
I think I am going to try your pull out project because it is soooo Cute!!!

The Settings I used for the Ross Paper is blade setting set at four or five
I played with it, pressure was four bars, and the speed was what every the Gypsy set it as!! (it was much slower than fast speed)
I hope that helps!

By the way I love your profile picture!!!
:)
Aloha,
Shar

I just did a bunch of research on digi stamps, and I have the answer for you. If you have a laser printer the ink should not run, you should be able to color as soon as you print. But, if you have a ink jet printer like me you have to either let the digi stamp sit for 24hrs before coloring or you can use your heat embossing tool to heat set the ink in just a few seconds. Hope this helps. I listed your blog on blogs I follow at the bottom of my blog. Thanks for being so nice to a blog newbie!

Hello Cely! The cards you created with the Cricut are adorable. Two very fun Mother's Day cards. I've seen that pull out card and I just think it's so cool!
As for coloring with digis, Pink Crafter has some really gr8 info. I've heard a lot of similar instructions. For me, I usually print them out and let them set for a good 12-24 hours. I like to use rubbah, but there are some digis that are just too wonderful not to buy yea? The thing to do is to let the ink dry, using the heat embossing tool will definitely make it dry faster. Hope this helps. BTW, thank you for your comments, my cousin Shar is a doll, I hope ur following her too. She's got the crafty bug too. :)
