My zombie toe and new challenge at Lia Stampz

I've had a smashed toe for about 5 years now.  It was ugly and discolored and honestly, I didn't think much of it because a couple of coats of pink nail polish made it look pretty normal.  LOL.  Anywho, the other night I stubbed it pretty bad and it ended up bleeding.  I went to go get it checked out by my doctor... she had to remove my toenail!!!  I was pretty sad about it.  I ended up watching part of the procedure and it looked like a Halloween special.  So now I have a zombie toe.  Bloodied, bruised, and missing a nail.  The worst part about it?  It hurts like H E double hockey sticks and I can't walk on it until Saturday.  The best part about it?  The husband is babying me and I get to eat whatever I want. :) Just today I had nachos, a teri burger, french fries, a salted caramel mocha from Starbucks, and his famous pizza pockets (made in a 1980's Snackster!) Hopefully I don't gain 20 lbs while rocking the zombie.

Anywho, it's good enough now (2 days since it happened) that I can hop to my computer and elevate it while I type.  Hooray! Which means I can tell you all about Lia Stampz' new challenge! Anything Goes plus a sentiment!

Here's my card using the digi called Winner:

Inked him up with Copics.  Paper is from a Making Memories scrapbook pack.  Cardstock and ribbon by SU.  I used a clear stamp from Impression Obsession to stamp the Congratulations across the finish line. :) I thought I was so clever.  LOL.

Can't wait to see what you guys create!  And watch out for those toes!

Turkey Thanksgiving card

Someone asked me to make her a bunch of these turkeys for her daughter's class so I just made a few more extra for myself to slap on a few cards to make quickie Thanksgiving ones.  Not sure what happened with the photo... The light is too bright!!!

gobble gobble.  The sentiment was a make your own sentiment stamp set by Impression Obsession.  Love this set!

I think I'm going to make it in the Thanksgiving card department!  So until the next one!

Tie card for Father's Day

I'm so behind on Father's Day cards!  They were supposed to go out yesterday to get out to my friends and family on the mainland on time.  Whoops!  Better late than never.  Plus it gives me a chance to enter all the Father's Day challenges this week. :)

I thought I came up with a *genius* idea to tie a ribbon on a card to look like a tie.  Unfortunately, tying a ribbon into a small knot tie is not as easy as I thought it would be...

Ah well.  It looks decent enough, I suppose.  Maybe a skinnier ribbon would've worked better, or perhaps a satin ribbon would've been easier.  I thought it was kinda cute!

Entering into these challenges:
Party Time Tuesdays Father's Day challenge
My Craft Spot's I love you Dad challenge
Getting Cricky's Anything goes challenge
Outlawz Monday greeting challenge - Father's Day/Masculine

Sympathy cards

Glad blogger is back up and running!  I have a few comments deleted so I'm sorry if I never got back to you if you left me a comment.  I usually comment on everyone's blog if they've left a comment but I have no archives of the comments I received in my previous post.  :(  So sorry about that, but if you leave me a comment on this one I will definitely leave you some love on yours. :)

There was some sad news this week.  My husband's dear great grandmother passed away.  I made a bunch of sympathy cards for the family.

My bestie's grandmother gave me some old vintage lace trim and I decided that it would be nice to put on a card.  I used a SU stamp and punches.  I embossed the background with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  The sentiment is from my all time favorite sentiment stamp set from Impression Obsession.  It has 92 word stamps and you can mix and match words for any occasion.  If I didn't have the right sentiment to go on a card, this stamp set saved me!

This one is for Grandpa so I made it blue.  Still a bit feminine, but at least it's not pink!  I  water colored (tried!) an old SU stamp and used Accent Essentials to create a stretched scallop to fit it in.  Some black satin ribbon and the same sentiment completes it.

The first card was entered into the Clear It Out Challenge
The second card was entered into the My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge
