12 Days of Christmas - Day 9

Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop!!!!  This is Day 9!

This hop will take place November 24th through December 5th and the new postings each day will be posted by 8am eastern standard time. This hop will be full of wonderful ideas and inspiration to get you well on your way of creating all of those beautiful Christmas projects. This is an awesome way to get a lot of your Christmas cards, and scrapbook layouts finished, home decorations completed and maybe even be inspired to create something using a new technique that you have never tried. There will be a new project posted each and every day by all the wonderful amazing ladies in this hop. Also each day we will have a guest designer or two for you to visit.

There is also BLOG CANDY to give away! Make sure you stop at Lisa's (first stop) to find out how to win!

Here's my project today. I'm showing you a couple of tags:

For these I used the stamp set Holiday Home from SU. Inked the house with Copics. Tag topper punch, cardstock, glimmer paper, and twine are all stampin up.  The paper is just from my scraps. I made about 2 dozen of these! So easy when they have matching dies to cut out the houses!

I made a bunch of these moose (remember my card from a few days ago?) so I decided to put them on red and green this time and put them on tags.

Hope you liked my 9th hop project! Here's the line-up, in case you get lost!

My swap partner was Elina from Scrapbooks, Crafts, and Cards, Oh My!. She's so talented! These are the goodies she sent me:

(Made by Elina)
This is a shaker ornament using Santa Christmas Penguin. Its so cute!!! Its on my tree. :)

(Made by Elina)
She also made me a bunch of matching tags and stamped wooden tags!

(Made by Elina)
And this super cute card!!!! Ahhhh! Cuteness overload!

This is the card I sent her! Isn't it funny that we used the same digital image?! LOL I inked him up with Copics and popped him up.  The paper is from The Robin's Nest. I just simply added some rhinestones and white baker's twine.

I also included some wrapped presents in her package.  I'm not going to post a photo or say what it is... just in case she's waiting to open it! Just some little trinkets I found. :)

Hope you enjoyed my swap photos!

I have the 3x3 cards I made this season as my projects for today:

All of these 3x3 cards I made into packs of 4 with 4 mini envelopes and sold them at craft fairs.  They were such a big hit that I sold out! I made about 10 packs of each design. All of them are made with Stampin Up materials... Stampin Up just makes things quick and easy and thats what I go for when I'm making things in bulk.

This one is using the Endless Wishes stamp set.  Just added some glitter, pearl, and doodle dots.

Punch art using circle and scallop circle punches.  Added some retired ribbon and cardstock and another sentiment from Endless Wishes.  Also did some silver liquid pearls.

These polka dot cards I got on clearance at the craft store.  Added a Stampin Up stamp that was punched out.  Made my own holly out of cardstock and liquid pearls.

This one is using the stamp set White Christmas.  I just made a snow scene and added glitter.

This one is a retired set. I just stamped the reindeer, added some color to his scarf, and a liquid pearl.

This is the stamp set Visions of Santa.  Love how goofy this set is!

Kitty Bee September Spotlight - Santa Owl

Its my turn for the Monthly Spotlight at Kitty Bee Designs!  Here's my project:

Figured I'd start getting ready for Christmas since I'm always behind every year! I used the image called Santa Owl. Isn't he so cute? I printed a bunch of him on one sheet of blending card and colored them all in with Copics.  I used all Stampin Up products to make the tags.  I punched him out with a 2.5" circle punch and popped them up on tags I made with the SU tag topper punch and some retired Gumball Green cardstock.  I stamped the Merry Christmas on some Crumb Cake and banner cut the edges.  I also stamped a "to: from:" and added Cherry Cobbler twine!

Super easy to do and now I have at least 9 tags for large Christmas presents!
Hope you enjoyed my spotlight!

Getting to Know Me

Aloha bloggy buddies!

This is a different kind of blog hop, it is called "Getting to know me" I have been given four questions to answer. I was tagged by my good friend Diana.  She is an incredible woman and has been supporting me and my blog from the very beginning. You can check out her blog here: http://dianamlarson.blogspot.com
These are the following questions I have been asked to answer.

 1. What am I working on?
I just came back from Hawaii and I literally have nothing in my card stash! I have 2 craft fairs this weekend, so I'm making cards like a madwoman. Currently I have 14 card layouts on my desk waiting to be put together.  I make about 5-30 cards per day as I sell these at fairs and in shops around town. Love my job!

 2. How does my work differ from others of its genre?
I think I'm more cutesy that anything else.  I'm Asian and love Hello Kitty and just everything Kawaii, so it shows in my work.  I struggle to do masculine cards or earthtone cards! My favorite colors to use are pastels. I also think I'm pretty Clean and Simple. I'm also a big fan of corny puns!

3. Why do I write/create what I do?
Because I love it! I was a teacher before I did Hawaii Paper Party full time.  Sometimes I miss it, but you really can't beat your own business and especially if that business is doing what you love!  I also like the smiles that come across people's faces when they come by my craft booth and find something they like or that someone else would like.

4. How does your writing/creating process work?

Honestly, I think I work pretty backwards! I color images first. Then I pick colors that would suit the image that I just colored. I don't work on one card at a time. I layout a bunch of cards (usually about a dozen) and move pieces around like I'm making one big scrapbook page.  Once I get everything the way I want, I glue everything down.  Everything gets embellished at the same time too. Sequins, pearls, rhinestones, candy dots get added at the end and I apply them to the bunch of cards in my pile at the same time.

I love working with Copics. I'm always experimenting with different techniques and ways to make things look more realistic.  I'm also a big sky sponger too!

This was my best seller this year.  Clean, simple, and punny! :D Even though Copic cards is my main thing, I like to break out my Cricut once in awhile to make a bunch of cards at once.

Here is another one I made for Lia Stampz Design Team. The challenge was clean and simple :) Love the CAS challenges!

I probably color mermaids most often.  I have a thing for mermaids. :)

This was another best seller.  I'm a hobby Stampin Up demonstrator and use their products on all my cards (all my cardstock is by SU). This one I ended up playing with the dress form framelit dies.  Love it! This card was also a big hit in my Etsy shop.

Now for the tagging!

Shirl Nases - my fellow Lia Stampz DT sister and one of my first supporters on my blog.  I got started meeting people by signing up for her swaps!

Nancy Nickel - another fellow Lia Stampz DT sister! She's always so sweet and leave me bloggy love all the time!

Marianne Grimbly - one more fellow Lia Stampz DT sister! She is also a fellow Etsian and sells her cards in her shop called The Card Chalet.

And of course, the person who tagged me is Diana of DL.Art. Thanks so much Diana!

Custom Card Monday - New Hunting Baby

Its Monday! Which means its time for another custom card!  This one came in from Etsy. Someone wanted a new baby card for parents that were hunters.  This is what I came up with:

Used a Bugaboo image and inked it up with Copics.  I also added a sponged sky background.  Used some DCWV paper, SU tag die with some stampin up ribbon and retired hemp cord. Added silver liquid pearls to the rifle.

12 Days of Christmas - Oodles of Gift Tags!

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Well, not yet, but there are 5 MORE DAYS 'till Christmas!!!  I've been a crazy holiday craft machine.  I've been stocking my Etsy shop since October with holiday cards, tags, and other paper products.  Now with 12 days left until Christmas, I thought that I would share the best sellers here on my blog. :) I'll be posting once per day until the 25th!

Happy 12 Days of Christmas!

On the 7th day of Christmas I created some gift tags!

These were easy: Just covered some manila tags with paper from the Fabulous Christmas stack.  Used a Stampin Up photopolymer set for the banner.  Added a paper reinforcement, rhinestone, and baker's twine.

I used the Stampin Up Chalk Talk framelits to make these.  Paper is from The paper Studio All Seasons II Stack.  Stamps, ribbon, ink, and twine are all Stampin Up.

More covered manila tags.  More paper from Fabulous Christmas stack.  The stamp is from the Happy Hour set from Stampin Up.  I bought the larger red clips from Etsy.

Also made a tag set! Everything is retired Stampin Up product that I got on sale and I just added little embellishments like new stamped greetings, rhinestones, and ribbon or twine.

Stamped on these manila tags for a vintage Christmas look.  I used several Stampin Up stamp sets that had snowflakes.  Everything is Stampin Up on this one (except the manila tags). Loved the color combo!

Hope you liked my 7th installment of The 12 Days of Christmas! See you tomorrow!
