Trash to Treasure

So I salvaged an old Cinderella storybook that was going to be thrown out by the library.  The cover came off and a lot of the pages were missing. :( This was vintage, circa 1980! I had to turn the art into some cards.  Unfortunately, I cannot sell these pieces due to copyright and license issues, but they make a nice addition to my personal stash and I'm sure people will appreciate the vintage images!

Just added a purple base layer, a crocheted flower, and ruffled ribbon.  All retired Stampin Up product.

Added a card stock base layer and a flower I had in my stash.

Added a card stock base layer, some washi tape, a button, and linen thread.

Added the cute Stampin Up cupcake builder punch.

Added a felt flower and a shell button.

Can't wait to salvage more vintage story books! I saved a heap from the library!

12 Days of Christmas - Oodles of Gift Tags!

Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas! Well, not yet, but there are 5 MORE DAYS 'till Christmas!!!  I've been a crazy holiday craft machine.  I've been stocking my Etsy shop since October with holiday cards, tags, and other paper products.  Now with 12 days left until Christmas, I thought that I would share the best sellers here on my blog. :) I'll be posting once per day until the 25th!

Happy 12 Days of Christmas!

On the 7th day of Christmas I created some gift tags!

These were easy: Just covered some manila tags with paper from the Fabulous Christmas stack.  Used a Stampin Up photopolymer set for the banner.  Added a paper reinforcement, rhinestone, and baker's twine.

I used the Stampin Up Chalk Talk framelits to make these.  Paper is from The paper Studio All Seasons II Stack.  Stamps, ribbon, ink, and twine are all Stampin Up.

More covered manila tags.  More paper from Fabulous Christmas stack.  The stamp is from the Happy Hour set from Stampin Up.  I bought the larger red clips from Etsy.

Also made a tag set! Everything is retired Stampin Up product that I got on sale and I just added little embellishments like new stamped greetings, rhinestones, and ribbon or twine.

Stamped on these manila tags for a vintage Christmas look.  I used several Stampin Up stamp sets that had snowflakes.  Everything is Stampin Up on this one (except the manila tags). Loved the color combo!

Hope you liked my 7th installment of The 12 Days of Christmas! See you tomorrow!

New Challenge at Lia Stampz - Shabby Chic

We want to see your Shabby Chic projects this fortnight at Lia Stampz!

Here is my project:

The image is called Haley.  I colored her with Copics and texturized her with some grosgrain ribbon and colorless blender.  I sponged everything in Stampin Up crumb cake and bermuda bay inks.  I used some retired Stampin Up Christmas paper.  The burlap I bought from a seller on Etsy.  I punched out a snowflake from some bermuda bay card stock and added glitter and a pearl.  The Merry Christmas stamp is from Impression Obsession.

Can't wait to see what you guys create!

Birthday challenge at Party Time Tuesdays

It's TUESDAY!  That means there's a new challenge over at Party Time Tuesdays!  This week's challenge is to create a birthday card (in honor of Ben Franklin's birthday, of course!)

PTT is sponsored this week by Stampendous.  They were generous enough to give the design team a stamp set to work with.  I got "Cherub Wishes."  Here's what I created:

Stamps are Stampendous, so are the paint chips that the cherub is spreading.  It's called Frantage chips.  Very fun to work with! :)  Cardstock, ink, ribbon, pearls by Stampin Up, background paper was a leftover scrap piece from yeeeeeaaars ago!  I don't usually do vintage/distressed, so I was happy to use it up!

PTT is also sponsored by Wild Rose Studios and Whisker Graphics.  Enter the challenge for a chance to win from these two companies!

Can't wait to see what you guys create this week!

Monochrome purple

Only been having enough time for either scheduled posts or quickie posts.  I started my new job and I need to get a normal routine going.  Please forgive me if it takes awhile to comment back!  I'll also be back tomorrow with the winner of my giveaway.  Please click HERE if you haven't entered yet.

Here's a card that surprisingly I had time to play with and make during last weekend.  Haven't had a chance to post until now.  Didn't make it for any design team or hop or anything like that... I made it just for sheer leisure. :)

The digi is from Tiddlyinks.  Used my Copics to color her.  Distressed and color spritzed the whole card too.

Entering this in the following challenges:
Craft Your Passion - Mythical Creatures
Tiddlyinks - Celebration
Outlawz - Monochrome/Vintage
Getting Cricky - Celebration
Diana's Thursday Challenge - Majority favorite color (my absolutely fave color is pink, but purple comes in a close second. :) For some reason, last weekend I was REALLY feelin' purple, so that was my fave color of the day! :))

'Till next time.  This tired gal need some sleep!

More dirty watercolor and mail from Scrappy Mom's

More sympathy cards today and more dirty watercolor.  This digi is from Beccy's Place and she calls it "mum's flowers."  This looks like plumeria to me so I colored it pink because here in Hawaii we have pink and yellow plumerias. :) I like the pink ones.

I'm kinda silly and didn't match my pinks even though I have all the SU! colors.  I think I just had a brain fart from so many sympathy cards.

On a happier note, my prize from Scrappy Moms came in the mail!  Woohoo! Check this out:

I do not own any of her stamp sets but these look like high quality H2O!   I can't wait to make a card with them.  I won the Spring Fling stamp set and spring is over but I'm thinking I could make at least one of these sentiments work.  And I'm really excited about the pink acrylic blocks!!!  It wasn't as pink as I thought it was going to be which makes it just pink enough for a pinkaholic to have but not too pink that it distracts from seeing your image.   And I dig the shape/finger grips!

Tomorrow I'm participating in an Autism walk.  Waking up early and super excited about it! :) Have a great weekend, my online pals!

'Till next time!

Cherry Blossom Sympathy Card

We all know that my "art" regarding coloring digis leaves much to be desired... so I've created my own new technique to disguise my flaws... I call it dirty watercolor! I distress sponge my digi first over the entire thing, making it muddy and brown.  Then I watercolor the image mixing colors with the muddiness, creating a vintage-y distressed look.  Look, you can't see my horrible coloring!

(click for larger image)

Now that I'm looking at it, I realize that I forgot to distress the sentiment piece.  Whoops.  The image came from Beccy's Place.  She lends her images for free, she's such a sweet woman!

Entering it in these challenges:
Getting Cricky's vintage challenge
Wee Memories free for all challenge
Craft your Passion anything challenge

'Till next time!

Vintage Flowers

Trying my hand at a couple of challenges and feeling a little vintage today!  Vintage isn't something I do very often because frankly, I like clean and simple and a card taking 20 minutes or less!  With vintage, there is a lot of distressing and sponging and inking.  I was up for it, today, though!

(click for larger image)
Two different patterned papers from Paper Pizzaz' vintage collection.  I also cut out a tag from the same paper pack.  Stamp is a random one in my stash and made into an embellishment and hemp twine is from SU.

I'm entering this card in these challenges:

'Till next time!
