Anywho, here's a simple card that I made for an Uncle's birthday:
(click for larger image)
The cassette tape was cut from Indie Art cartridge. The paper is from a weird but cool paper pack called Daydreams by K&Company. It's got mermaids, ukuleles, bicycles, umbrellas, submarines, rainbows, and unicorns. Really eclectic paper... I love it!
The first contest I'm entering this in is a movie theme challenge at The Paper Variety. The cassette tape reminds me of mix tapes (that I was the MASTER at!). There was one scene in No Strings Attached where Ashton Kutcher makes Natalie Portman a "period mix." Hilarious! Of course, the movie is newer so he made her a CD, but those are still called mix tapes, right? Lol, I still call them that! You can watch the clip of the movie here on YouTube.
The second contest I'm entering this in is a Father's Day or Retro theme at Getting Cricky. The cassette tape is pretty "retro" considering we went from records to the tape to CDs and then to mp3s on the ipod! Technology is passing me by...
The third contest I'm entering this in is a music themed challenge by Pollycraft. Such super cute entries this week... you need to check this one out!
'Till next time folks!

First days are always hard. Hang in there, it'll get better! Indie Art, I always forget about that cartridge; it's good for 'guy' stuff like the cassette. Thanks for reminding me. Thanks for visiting my blog! I always like to read your comments.
Sorry to hear that you had a stressful first day at your new job, but it reminds me of the lyrics in the Grateful Dead song Ripple: Well the first days are the hardest days, don't you worry anymore! Hoping that each day will get easier for you!!! The card is adorable - love the cassette tape!!
This is an adorable card! Your uncle is going to love it.
Sorry your first day wasn't the best...but just remember that first days/weeks are always stressful, but it WILL get better! Just hang in there...
Hi Cely,
I love your card-and have never used that cart even though I have it! I love the cassette tape--and the sentiment! However, I must find that paper pack now--that's totally down my alley!
LOVE it!!!
PS I will be praying for you in your new job.
