Fancy Fold challenge at Lia Stampz

There's another challenge at Lia Stampz!  This time it's a fancy fold.  I decided to go with a shadow box card.
The image is covered in foil-y snowflakes, stars, and mini snowmen. Colored her with Copics, paper by SU!

When you stand her up, Haley is revealed!

Isn't she so cute?  You can purchase Haley at Whimsy Stamps.

Blessing Mix

I wanted to make a little treat for my co-workers for Thanksgiving.  I came across Angie Juda's Blessing Mix idea.  Her website is Chic n Scratch and she has many different boxes and bags that she's come up with to package the blessing mix over the years.  I chose this style from 2008.  I wanted something where I didn't need anything to put it together, as these will be eaten without regard to the packaging!  In these two bags, I used brads to close them shut, but I stapled the majority of the bags.

Each bag used one sheet of 8.5" x 11" paper.

A side view.

This mix was so yum!

This was so easy and fun to make that I think this is going to be my Thanksgiving tradition from now on.  :)  How was everyone's Thanksgivings?

Fall leaves card

Happy Thanksgiving! Here's my last Thanksgiving card! :) The digi is from Simply Betty.  LOVE him!  He's so stinkin cute with the little Reptar on his shirt!  Kept the front simple because of the busy-ish background paper with all the text.

He's colored with Copics and Sharpie.

Tomorrow I'll post my last Thanksgiving project.  Have a happy Thanksgiving and hope everyone is full of great yummy things!  If you are heading out tonight or early tomorrow for shopping, please be careful and be safe! I need to get my turkey in the oven!

Even MORE Thanksgiving cards...

...and so continues my last minute Thanksgiving cards!  Here's one with a digi from Beccy's place.  I colored it with (mostly) Copics.  The squash in the basket and the ribbon on the hat are Sharpie.

So fun to color!

I'm really liking the stress relief effect that coloring gives.  And if it's a big digi like this one is, it looks brilliant just plain on a card.  The artwork is what shines without any frilly stuff.

Till Tomorrow!  I'll show you what I'm giving my co-workers today!

Autumn Friendship Card

More late night Thanksgiving cards!  For this one, I used an old stamp I found at a garage sale.  I colored Mr. Scarecrow man with my Copics.

I know it looks like the background paper is the wrong way, but really, there are trees going in every direction.  It just so happens that the scarecrow is covering those trees!

I'm crafting a bunch tonight to finish a project for a 1st birthday.  1st birthdays in Hawaii are a huuuuge deal.  We're talking 300 people here!  Hopefully the majority of it will get done tonight!  'Till the next *Thanksgiving* project!

Turkey Thanksgiving card

Someone asked me to make her a bunch of these turkeys for her daughter's class so I just made a few more extra for myself to slap on a few cards to make quickie Thanksgiving ones.  Not sure what happened with the photo... The light is too bright!!!

gobble gobble.  The sentiment was a make your own sentiment stamp set by Impression Obsession.  Love this set!

I think I'm going to make it in the Thanksgiving card department!  So until the next one!

Scarecrow Thanksgiving Card

I'm a tad behind in my Thanksgiving cards.  I'm doing other projects and my Thanksgiving cards will be a little late this year.  Thankfully, I colored this scarecrow months ago with Sharpies!  (Now that I know about the laws of shadows from my time with Marianne Walker, my coloring of yesteryear just looks BAD!  but I'm desperate for time here so on the card it goes!) I just threw the card together and it was easy peasy.  The digi came from Beccy's Place.

'Till next time!  I'll be sure to post all of my Thanksgiving projects this week!

New MANLY challenge at Lia Stampz!

There's a new challenge at Lia Stampz!  This fortnight, try to make a card for a man!

Here's my "man" card.  The image is called Harry and can only be found at Whimsy Stamps for Lia Stampz.  Psst.... he's only $2.50!  What a steal! The sentiment is also Lia Stampz.

Here's a close up of his glasses. :D

He was soooo fun to color.  Of course I used my newfound Copics skills.  I wanted him to look a little bit more 3-D so I used a piece of paper toweling to get the texture on his shirt and added glossy accents to his glasses.  Click any image to enlarge!

'Till next time, kids!  Can't wait to see what you create!

Birthday Easel card

Another (almost) all SU card!  Since I'm super busy this week, I'm grabbing coordinating papers, ribbons, and punches from SU so I can get things together quickly.

I never do fancy fold cards because I always feel like the recipient is almost always going to have a hard time figuring it out.  I'm going to try to mail this one and see if my Aunt has a hard time. :)

Here's another view.

'Till the next project, guys!  I know I haven't been visiting everyone's blog much, but if you leave me some love, I always try to make it back to your blogs and see what I've missed. :) See you folks soon!

Stampin Up bird punch sympathy card

This card is 100% Stampin Up!  I hardly ever use the Stampin Up bird punch, but it really is very convenient.  Birds can be placed on any card, for any occasion.  I had to make a couple of sympathy cards so I used the bird punch as the main highlight and also used the decorative label punch and modern label punch.  Also used the basic pearls, some rub ons, and a retired stamp set.

Sometimes you just don't want to break out the Cricut!

I'm going to be super busy this weekend and next week with projects... So hopefully I see you folks soon!  I'll definitely have a lot to share, that's for sure!

A whole weekend of COPICS!!!

***If you missed Starla's blog hop yesterday, scroll down or click here.  I'll keep the giveaway open one more day for late hoppers and will pick the winner tomorrow!  Don't forget to enter her fairy challenge here to get entered into her awesome giveaways!***

So this weekend I had 20 full hours of Copics class!!! :) I got my standard and intermediate certification.  And my instructor was the uber talented MARIANNE WALKER!  This was the first time that Hawaii had a certifications class, and I was on the fence about signing up because I'm brand new to Copics.  My husband pushed me to sign up for the first one and by the end of it I was begging him to go to the second! LOL!  I learned TONS.  I was sure to bring my camera so I could document some of the projects with you guys!

Pretty pineapples! How appropriate!

Woohoo! Markers!

Fun with airbrushing: Marianne airbrushing a student's cast.

Woohoo! Copic airbrushed flames!

Marianne drawing a santa on a peice of scratch paper in 30 seconds.  Amazing.

Who woulda thunk there were so many skin combinations?  Some look better than others...We were allowed to freely test colors.

Me and my final project.

I tried all kinds of hair combinations... I think the pink and blue were my faves. :D

My classmate Analyn, Marianne, me, and the flaming cast.

Me and Marianne!

My self portrait camera shots are terrible.  I think it's because I'm Asian and have short arms...

I think this was the best crafting investment I have ever made.  I was so glad that my husband was so supportive in me getting my certification and attending this class to learn more (and thanks KELLY for telling me about it).  Plus Marianne is a complete sweetheart.  She's so funny, she had me laugh-snorting the whole day! If you're on the fence about signing up for a Copics class, DON'T HESITATE!  You learn so much more than just using the markers.  The intermediate class is catered to cardmakers and papercrafters and gives us the ideas we need to use the markers in our craft at it's fullest potential.  Awesome stuff!

Hope you enjoyed the pics and see you tomorrow the winner of my blog candy!

Happy Birthday Starla!!! You Could Be Wishing On a Star's blog hop!

Hooray!  Today's THE day!  It's Starla's birthday hop!  Starla's blog is You Could be Wishing on a Star and she is PHENOMENAL.   Not only is she awesome with Copics and papercrafting, she's an awesome friend.  It is people like her that make my life that much better.  She has always had my back since the time I had my first Stampin Up! card swap, to my very own birthday blog hop in August... she is just THE BEST!!!  I am so honored that I was asked to do this hop for her.  :)

So without further ado, here's my card that I mailed Starla to wish her a Happy Birthday/Happy 100 followers/ Happy blogaversary!!! You deserve it girl!

I used the Tinkerbell Cricut cartridge to make this fairy.  I think her name is supposed to be Rosetta, but I made her look like Starla. :) So it's Starla as a fairy! I know it looks like it has no greeting, but I swear it's there:

See?  I used a bottle of embossing powder that I've never used before.  It said "blue pearl" on it so I thought that it was going to be a nice whitish looking blue... NOPE! Totally translucent and hard to see.  Ah well.  I'm sure Starla will see it in person!

And here's a fun picture of my cat ruining my picture of Starla's card.  Right when I clicked the shutter button, he pounced and knocked it right off the stand.  I shouldn't have named him Sabotage!

How about some blog candy?  I call it the fairy prize pack!  You get 24 6x6" sheets of "fairy" paper (aka cute, flowery, and glittered!) and also 4 Gel Writer gel pens (to touch up all those fairy wings!)

To win:
1.  Leave a message in my comments (after wishing Starla either a Happy Birthday/Happy 100 follower/or Happy Blogaversary!).  And don't forget a way to contact you!
2.  Be a follower of my blog, if you aren't already.

Now get hoppin' to see the other fabulous fairy projects!  There is also a challenge and LOTS of prizes on Starla's blog, so don't forget to work your way there!  Have fun!

Halloween Swag

There is never a holiday where I don't make goody bags for my God kids or my co-worker's children.  i don't have any kids of my own and I'm no longer in a classroom so I'm always thinking of excuses to give some swag!

Just the basic goodie bag that has store bought activity books, pencils, erasers, rulers, bookmarks, etc.  I'm totally into new school supplies. :)

A treat for the parents of the trick-or-treaters.  Yay for using up a spool of that 10 year old ribbon! Lol, I still have 3 more spools of it!

A treat for the co-workers.  I'm digging these new long cellophane bags from SU! Filled them with peanut butter M&Ms and added a really simple topper with SU! punches.

Housed them in my cute HK trick-or-treat bucket. :)

And that is IT on the Halloween projects! :D I guess its time to make those Thanksgiving ones! 'Till next time!

The last Halloween card!

So this is the last Halloween card I'm posting.  I'm pretty sure the recipient I sent it to hasn't gotten it yet, because she lives in Turkey.  She reads my blog though, so Val*, this is your Halloween card!

While this is the last of the Halloween cards, I still need to post the Halloween goodies/treat bags I gave away last night.  LOL, so much Halloween, so little time!

I got this image from Sliekje's digi stamps.  Another great gal who lends her art for free.  Check her out, but don't forget to link back to her! :)  Colored this image with mostly Copics.  There is some Sharpie here and there.  Cardstock is from SU, paper is from DCWV daydreams pack.

I signed up for a Copics certification class this weekend!  Woohoo, can't wait to learn more!  I'm brand spankin new to the world of Copics, so hopefully I can get my money's worth.  It comes with a swag bag of Copics products, so I'm pretty excited about that!  I'll be sure to bring my camera so I can share the experience with you guys! :)
